@drivelinebases Are Astros doctoring baseball or throwing spit balls. look at spin rates of verlander, cole and morton, inreased dramatically pitching in Astros uniform. they probably using a substance or like chewing gum like morton did like post season
Chewing gum? Also spit balls would reduce spin theoretically. Anyway, what a weird coincidence you have discovered. 🤔 https://t.co/t7noehg4ui
— Kyle Boddy (@drivelinebases) 2018
If only there was just a really quick way to increase spin rate. Like what if you could trade for a player knowing that you could bump his spin rate a couple hundred rpm overnight...imagine the steals you could get on the trade market! If only that existed...
— Trevor Bauer (@BauerOutage) 2018
Spin rate increases about 350 rpm on average in our tests when using pine tar vs no pine tar. That was at 70ish mph. The effect is slightly less pronounced at higher mph, but still between 2 and 3 hundreds rpm increase at about 90mph
— Trevor Bauer (@BauerOutage) 2018
Jealousy isn’t a good look on you my man. You have great stuff and have worked hard for it, like the rest of us, no need for this. I will ask though because my spin rate and spin axis on my 4 seem is a$$. https://t.co/jvbLuWWqgN
— Lance McCullers Jr. (@LMcCullers43) 2018
Not jealous my friend. Promise you that. I respect what you all are doing over there. My gripe is with the hypocrisy of @mlb for selectively enforcing rules when it suits them

Just pick one But to not let me use non sticky surgical grade glue to reinforce the stitches on the back side of my pinky finger that has no chance to touch the ball while simultaneously allowing people to blatantly use sticky stuff is hypocritical to the max
— Trevor Bauer (@BauerOutage) 2018
I never said Astros are cheating. My only claim is that using sticky stuff on your hand increases the rpm on fastballs. Which is blatantly true.
— Trevor Bauer (@BauerOutage) 2018
is this possible evidence you’re correct? he’s not necessarily throwing a ton higher spin, but fewer low-spin, possibly two-seamers? pic.twitter.com/Vwqy70KhRv
— Eno Sarris (@enosarris) 2018
interesting, further evidence that nothing too weird is going on in Houston: Cole’s higher 4s spin rate this year is more due to the abets of low ones (fewer misclassified sinkers?) and not due to a ton more high-spin 4s. https://t.co/t2QyeWZfGv
